Dorothy Young 

I am Dorothy Young, the owner and administrative director of Young Child Development Center, Inc. I live in the valley area with my husband, Kevin. We have one grown son, Ryan who is married to Amber.  They have 3 children, Alex, Addison, and Lillyin.  I have been in the Early Childhood Education field since 1990, I have worked in every position in a center for non-profit, corporate, and now private early childhood settings.  I started Young Child Development Center in 2003 and this was one of the best decisions that I have ever made!  Early Childhood is my passion and calling.  My team and I are always striving to do the best for the children and families at our center.  We are very proud to have the honor of being the first child care center in Wisconsin to earn 5 stars using the YoungStar criteria.

I am a graduate of Fox Valley Technical College with an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Education.  I earned my Administrators Credential in Early Childhood at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. I also attended UW-Oshkosh, majoring in Criminal Justice.

I am the past-president of Valley Association for the Education of Young Children.  I am a member of Wisconsin Child Care Administrators Association, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association as well as ValleyAEYC!
