We refer to our school age summer program as a summer camp because it is filled with adventure and activity! We have a room designated for our summer school agers, so their space feels more like an activity center than a child care. School agers have their own space away from the younger children, in a room full of game tables, a woodworking area, a stage for dramatic play activities including music and dance, a Lego building site, an expansive arts & crafts area, games, books puzzles, science activities, and more. It’s also adjacent to our indoor gymnasium and a large outdoor playground, and they get plenty of “run around” time.
The summer curriculum is designed by our school year before and after school students who provide input on activities and the 17 field trips we take each summer. Field trips change each summer, but some of the things we’ve explored in the past include: mini golfing, crayfishing, a Timber Rattlers Game, crawling through the Ledgeview Caves, touring Outagamie Airport, strawberry picking, Special Memories Zoo, and more.
Our pre-kindergarten summer program takes advantage of warm summer days and the opportunity to be outside as much as possible. The PreK summer class plants and cares for the garden, has sprinkler and water fun days, explores nature, and participates in outdoor group games. They also do science experiments and do a cooking activity each week. They also take field trips once a week. It is a fun, stimulating environment for all!
Both our Summer School Age Program and Summer Pre-Kindergarten program runs from the day after the school year ends to a week before school starts again for the year. We will let you know exact dates each year, as well as provide you with a calendar of scheduled field trips.
