Pre-School & Pre-Kindergarten Staff
Hi, my name is Jessica U. I live in Appleton with my husband Adam and two children Gracie and Brady. I enjoy spending time with friends and family and doing crafty things. I started my career in Early Childhood Education in 1998 when I volunteered at a child care center for a psychology class that I was taking. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to take classes at FVTC that would certify me to teach and have enjoyed being a classroom teacher since then.
My goal as a teacher in the preschool room is to provide a safe, healthy, fun, and inviting environment in which every child in my care is able to make new accomplishments. I want each child to be able to experience new things through play, build healthy relationships, and feel proud of who they are.
I am Christa and I am the lead teacher in the Prekindergarten classroom. I have worked here since 2013. I have been in the Infant and Preschool 2 classroom before moving into PreK. I studied at UW-Stevens Point with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in ESL, graduating in 2010.
I love working with this age group, as they are learning so much each day and it is so fun seeing those light bulbs go on when they understand a new concept! In my spare time, I love watching movies, trying out new recipes and spending time with my family. I am married to an amazing man named Bee, as of September 2015 and we had our first child Eleanor in January 2018.
