Jessica U.
Hi, my name is Jessica U. I live in Appleton with my husband Adam and my cat Harley. I enjoy camping and doing crafty things like scrap booking. I started my career in early childhood education in 1998 when I volunteered at a child care center for a psychology class that I was taking. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to take a class that would certify me to be an assistant teacher through my high school (Neenah High School). I started working at the child care center that I volunteered at and after two months they offered to send me to classes at Fox Valley Technical College to become a lead teacher. I accepted the great opportunity and have been teaching since then.My goal as a lead teacher in the pre-school room is to provide a safe, healthy, fun, and inviting environment in which every child in my care is able to make new accomplishments. I want each child to be able to experience new things through play, build healthy relationships, and feel proud of who they are.

Kaofoua T.
Hello, my name is Kaofoua T.I am one of the teachers in the preschool classroom. I live with my family here in Appleton. I am currently attending UW-Oshkosh to earn my BS in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I graduated from Fox Valley Technical College with an AA degree in Early Childhood Education in May 2011. I want to be an early childhood educator because I think it is a great pleasure seeing the children grow and progress with their developmental skills, teaching children new things, for they are our future, and because I know that everyday will be a day of fun learning and memories. Some of my strengths include patience and love for young children, open and easy going personality, my ability to handle responsibility. Being a part of this team at Young Child Development Center is a great place to be because of the warm welcoming staff along with the everyday experiences that strengthen my knowledge of young children.

Mindy P.
My name is Mindy P. I am a teacher in the Preschool room at the Young Child Development Center. I live here in Appleton with my wonderful husband Andrew and our two dogs Duncan and Sydney. I am originally from Bancroft, MI, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Minor in Early Childhood Education from the University of Michigan-Flint. I have been working with young children for almost ten years now, and have always had a passion for helping children grow and gain knowledge through discovery based learning. I started working with children when I became a dance instructor in high school and continued to be a dance instructor for six years. After moving to Appleton in the fall of 2009, I did some student teaching and worked at another child care until starting at YCDC. I have been at YCDC since September 2011 and have enjoyed every day that I have spent with the children. At the YCDC my goal is to guide children in embracing their uniqueness and the uniqueness of others. I hope you stop in to see how wonderful the YCDC really is!
